Two successive 5-2 home wins for Pockets C against third placed Castle A and second placed Middlewich D extends their lead at the top of the table. The second victory was all the sweeter as Middlewich are the only team to have beaten them in the last two seasons.
Pockets A recorded their second win of the season with a good win away at the Cosy Club and they will be hoping it’s a sign of better fortune for the second half of the season.
Middlewich D inflicted Pockets C’s first league defeat for a season and a half with a 4-3 win at home but Pockets comfortably top the division at the Christmas break with 64 points, 17 clear of second placed Middlewich.
Pockets A have struggled all season and are bottom of the league with 16 points. They will be hoping for a turn round in their fortunes in the New Year.
The first two games of the season saw wins for Pockets D but since then it has been all downhill as their next nine games have all ended in defeat. They are now on 37 points, five above bottom placed Winnington

Charity Team K.O.
Pockets D are our only representatives in the quarter finals
The break of 105 made by Stewart Colclough two weeks ago would normally be good enough for the season but he improved on that against Winsford Cons last week with a break of 113.
Second placed Cons could not close the gap on Pockets. They lost 6-1 with only Andrew Kennedy taking a frame.
Pockets A continue to struggle. They lost 6-1 away at Castle.
The D team are on a bad run. Their latest defeat, a 2-5 loss at home to the Cosy Club sees them drop to seventh place.
